Snore

I miss sleeping. I remember that I used to sometimes have trouble with it, back in the day before the Turnip, but this entire year feels like sleep has been my reward for making through the day. I haven't had trouble falling or staying asleep in months. (Quite the opposite, of course.) But in the last week, my talent for being able to sleep through the night has slowly left me and now my busy vacation is draped in a sleepy fog.

It started with my hips feeling all wonky, making it impossible to get comfortable. Then it evolved to my back. Next came a little indigestion when I would lie down, which has become projectile vomiting anytime my torso is at an angle less than 45 degrees. So that leaves me sitting straight up in bed with my legs in all kinds of odd positions to keep them from tightening up and basically staring at the ceiling. Who sleeps sitting up? Apparently, not me.

And still no progress on the crib front. Unless you count looking at 400 cribs and not liking any of them "progress".

Oh no! I had a horrible bout with acid reflux earlier this year brought on by taking Chantix which resulted in exactly what you are describing. It is just miserable :-( I can't imageine tums won't hurt the turnip but can you take pepcid ac? I found that eating 4 tums immediately and also taking a pepcid ac worked for me.

Hang in there!

Ooops, the interweb says that tums can slow down your labor.

Re crib: I've only had one crib-buying experience, but here's what I know about it:
1) Choose a crib where the side comes down really easily. You need to be able to slide it down smoothly while carrying blankets and a baby that you've just gotten to sleep after an hour of crying, so this is important.
2) You get more bang for your buck if you buy a crib that can be converted into a child's bed -- that way you get almost 4 years of use out of it, rather than a year and a half. You can get a good one for about $400, and while that seems like a lot of money you get a lot of use out of it.

Hope that helps at least a little!! Also, hope you're sleeping better :)

Actually prenatal vitamins are what I DID end up getting!! I had the same thoughts as you... "Well, I need folate... and iron... and B12... what other population needs those?? Bingo, pregnant ladies!"

Tums are fine at this point - the dosage you need to stop labor is higher than a Tums or two, and it won't keep you from going into labor! Feel better, and maybe ask for some Zantac!
