When I get close to graduation, I may need to take down this blog. I say and think some completely ridiculous things - and then put them on the internet for all to see. There is no way they are going to let me be a doctor (especially an OB/GYN) with a public record of these stupid-isms. Like, for example, this:
In my head, I knew that this was going to happen. I've seen pictures, I've read about the mechanism, I've seen it happen to others, and I know which cells are dividing when and where. That does not prepare a person for the actual change. What I'm really saying is: HOLY COW, WHERE DID THIS BELLY COME FROM???
As you know, I have even documented its growth on this website. I have kept records, compared them to what's normal, worried about everything that I could find to worry about. But it rather never occurred to me that MY belly would actually get big and that I would then have to schlep this belly around with me. I know, in my little brain, that its just going to keep getting bigger. But this will not lessen the shock when it happens.
20 weeks today!
(THAT'S ONLY HALFWAY. I swear I've been pregnant for my whole life.)

6 Readers rock!:
OH, Katie, I love you! Don't take the blog away! You are so wonderful and authentic and real. I love how you approach life with wonder and awe...
You inspire me.
PS: The floating Turnip is very active on your site this nmorning... is he active in your belly too??? I wish it were interactive and we could dress him. (On the website, not in your belly, that would be a boundary issue...)
The hilarity of it just now occuring to you that your belly will be h.u.g.e. is - - oh Lord, darling - well - hysterical! It was SO nice to see you, and now I feel like I am a little fly on the wall observing the little things you spill via your blog. :-) LOVE it!

Really?
And who would be in a position to stop us blogging 'bout what so ever we wish?
There's more than one medic who continues to blog ;-)
No way! Who wouldn't LOVE to have an obgyn who was as open about all of this as you are?!?
Aw, I'm sure it's an adorable bump. I always thought the ladies I saw in clinic looked so cute with their baby bellies :)
