Have a Seat

I've been avoiding the library for the last week or so because so many of my classmates are there. The atmosphere is intense and stressful and I decided that that wasn't going to help me out, so I moved to a building in the medical center. One with cushioned seats. It's been really great, actually. It's closer to the cafeteria, which is cheaper than the food close to the library. There is no one around to freak me out or distract me. Did I mention that the chairs are cushioned? That's huge. I really like the study room, as it has a giant white board and floor to ceiling windows (that look at the back of the VA, but whatever. It's sunlight.) and four conference tables. Great stuff.

Also, it's like three steps away from the restroom. This, as you might imagine, is a key point in why I love this room so much. However, there is a problem. Allow me to address the people who create this problem in letter format.

Dear Women who work in my study building,

Do you realize that it is because of you that no one can sit on the toilet seats? That it is because you choose to hover that none of the rest of us can either? From what I have seen, there are only about ten people who use the restroom at all. Are you so afraid of the status of your co-workers' bums that you insist on hovering over the seat, which invariably causes a splattering of waste all over the seat? Is that really necessary? I do not mean to be selfish, but I am having a hard time with my balance these days and, especially since I use the facility so often, am quickly growing tired of this chore. You make me yearn for the clean seats of the undergraduate library restrooms. Let me restate that. YOU ARE DIRTIER THAN THE UNDERGRADS.

What I'm really trying to say is this: Ladies, HAVE A SEAT.

Thanks a bunch and hope all your research is going swell today,
Katie!

Katie--
Good job in realizing that freaking out med students weren't helping you at all in getting yourself taken care of-- I think I'd already mentioned---I studied at my church for the same reason!

Anyhow, your post about the bathroom ordeal reminded me of this post from DoctorMama:

One week to go! You'll be fine, pace yourself, stay calm, you should have plenty of time to go pee during the test, and most people weren't there until 4:30 that day. Let me know if you have any questions/freak outs/etc.
